10 Things You Realize When Being A Recruiter

Hola mis lectores,

Its been a while since I last wrote anything. As you can tell by the title, you have decide to read about "10 Things You Realize When Being A Recruiter". This is solely my opinion and what I realize while working and being on the path as a recruiter now.

Vamos a ser, no?

"10 Things You Realize When Being A Recruiter"

  1. That you are constantly grateful you have a job. Seeing others finding a job and trying their best, actually sentimentally effects your feelings
  2. You scan through resumes like a "Pro". Top line, academic background and skill. Checked or reject
  3. Your life is not just about calling candidate and posting on job websites. Its calling, posting, offering and hiring.
  4. NO one understands the tediousness of our roles, because we are constantly smiling. I mean CONSTANTLY.
  5. You are not allowed to be sad even when we get REJECTED (by candidates, after all the process of calling, scheduling interview and even offering a offer letter, we still get rejected)
  6. You have an inner (customer service) voice that you ONLY use when you call a candidate
  7. You seem to understand many jargon, because Managers sends their Job Description in a whole different language like Auto CAD, PCBA, C, C++ ... (Thank God for Google)
  8. You learn to be patient with everyone and everything around you
  9. You are patient because everyday you take one step at a time (Most times huge steps, to close your requisition and get the job effectively)
  10. And LASTLY, that satisfying feeling of closing the req in the system and knowing deep down in your heart, you have help in securing a job for that someone!
Being a recruiter is no child's play. It's about teaching you to be humble each and every time.

I hope you find this small article entertaining. I sure did enjoy writing this. If it relates to you, please do share it or if you have any comments do not hesitate to reach out :)

As for now, adios, amigos mios! Voy a escribir de nuevo pronto!

Con mucho amor;

New Adevntures

Ola mi amigos con mi amigas,

So sorry for the super late update (as always) but there really isn't much that has been going on in my life apart from work and daily routines the past months. Anyway, I am here today to update a little on what has been going on and the plans ahead.

The last few months, I had a great time doing my internship and learning so many new things. Today marks my last day here at Eastern & Oriental Berhad and I am grateful and thankful for all the opportunity, trust and care that was showered on me. Everything felt right and I am in the right place at the right moment for this internship.

However, things are at the finish line and I am happy to say that my future career has been filled with abundant of choices with the privilege to choose what is best for me and my future. I have no one to thank but Him for all the blessing He had showered upon me and I am very excited for what lies ahead of me. I am up for the challenge and ready to roll.

But first, let me indulge myself into a month of self-rejuvenating activities that I love most; travel, beach, sun and sea. To top it off, Bali-Gili in two weeks! Travel tips and updates on it soon. I promise!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a nice day ahead, have faith and just believe.

P/s; I finally decide to have a public Instagram account.

PADI Open Water Dive Course

Hello bloggers/readers!

I am back to share a little about my little adventure in my hometown Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Being so close to the ocean and beautiful islands, taking a diving license is merely a foot step away. Just like every other home girl, I have taken this for granted for 17 years of saying yes I will do it but never did. Giving myself excuses like "Hey, there is always next time." Finally, on 17th July 2016, I took the step and paid for it which by all means I have to finish the course or I will lose my money.

With that being said, it turned into the best 3 days of my life. Diving is definitely different from skin diving/free dive. Which I do so often. Diving is literally breathing under water and 45 minutes underwater feels like 5 minutes. I dare not say that I love diving more than free-diving or vice-versa because the experience from either are two separate experiences. But rest assure, diving is for the brave of heart.

I say breach the fear of deep waters, experience the life beneath and its nothing but pure bliss!

#2016forlove

Hello my lovely readers,

It has been a while since I wrote and update anything. Pretty bad, I know. I wouldn't lie that there are days when I am typing out paragraphs after paragraphs just ranting but then decided not to post it because its so cliché of me or because I just think I am being overly emotional.

But I guess its the only subject matter that comes to my mind. I apologies in advance, for starting my first entry of this year with my late night overly emotional rants. So here it goes.

Recently, I watched a video about true love and about how everything we do to let go and let our significant other grow. I remember growing up, that no matter how much mama and papa fight, they never let go of each other. The whole idea of true love then makes sense to me. When one is married, they make a vow to love each other through it all. But dating, dating is a whole different game, it's where everything can be stop or ended because there is a gap of not wanting to give and take or maybe just simply because they don't make each other happy any more.

Here is my understanding though, that true love means loving yourself and letting another person to love you for all of you. Another person's happiness becomes your happiness too. Lust and love are two very separate feelings. One can never say they love another because of lust but one can love without lust. So if you are going through an emotional roller-coaster ride right now on your relationships or you just ended a relationship, just remember that if you were meant to be, then you will find your way back to each other.

So for all the broken hearted out there or the ones that are simply still finding yourself, I just want you to know that I feel the same way too. Lost sometimes, happy most of the time then sad on another time. This does not mean that we are bound to be alone, just because we don't have another person next to us yet/any more.

It just means that we are still learning to love ourselves more and learning to grow in ways we have never grown before. Experiences makes you a stronger person and dont let anyone tell you otherwise.

Most importantly, its a comfort to know that your happiness is God's happiness and His love is yours to receive.

Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand

Hello my lovely blogers and readers. Yes this is a long overdue post that has to go up. I am so sorry for not posting in a long while as this semester is a real hectic one. I am on my study week now and finally got the chance to travel and some time to write about it. So here goes.

I have decided to travel again to Krabi but this time to Ao Nang. It is a very pretty town and full of life. I love it.

How to get there;
We decide to go by mini van which brings us from PENANG-HATYAI-KRABI and KRABI-HATYAI-PENANG. Both ways with about THB1800/RM180. Its not the best option but its a road trip, backpack for sure! *Try book a flight if you have car sick*

Where to stay:
SLUMBER PARTY HOSTEL AND BAR. There are two Slumber Party Hostel in Ao Nang, the one in the beach and the one off beach.
My friend and I stayed off beach, but its only 15-20minutes by foot to get to the beach and Ao Nang civilization. This hostel is so much fun!
They offer free BBQ dinner and breakfast, pretty awesome drinks and even party all night, every night.
So if you are not looking forward to party, dont stay here.
It is also very very clean, with a cubic style beds and the staff are super friendly.
A night per bed would cost about RM50/THB500.

What to bring;
-Light clothes
-Good slippers
-Good liver (drinks are so cheap you have to drink)
-Beach wear/supplies
-Your crazy self
-Stamina to last you the whole night partying

What to do;
AM:
- Have breakfast in Cafe 8, serves one of the best breakfast
- Walk to the beach, tan yourself
- Go on an Island trip (We took the tour from Slumber Party Hostel and did almost everything from snorkelling to jumping into the sea)
-Eat ice cream (Movenpick is a good one)
-Get manicure and pedicure done
-Get a massage
-Walk about the streets
-Shop

PM;
-Have dinner in Jenna's if you fancy a fancy dinner
-Have dinner at a local restaurant (they serve the best pad thai)
-Party in Slumber Party Hostel (They are wild)
-Head to Chang Bar/ Disappointment Street for more fun and more parties
-Walk about the night market for shopping
-Take beautiful pictures
- Enjoy the beautiful lights of Ao Nang at night.

Ao Nang is party and solitude as well.
So if you have the time, pack your bags and head off somewhere.
It might change you or even so you might just find yourself <3

Georgetown

Hello my avid readers,

I am so sorry for not updating for a very long time now. School has begun and assignments piling up. I never really had the time to sit and type out a blog. Neither have I gone travelling yet. So today, let me just share a little bit of George town, Penang.

How to get around Georgetown;
-I suggest the hop on and hop off bus (RM 12 to all route)
or
-A cab to Georgetown. (From USM-Gtown, RM 24)

What to do;

Morning/ a.m
  • Walk around the street art
  • Take pictures of beautiful builidng
  • Have lunch in China house
  • Try the Ice ball (flavoured)
  • Hop in some cool cafe and enjoy the coffee/tea
  • Take the "Beach Street" bus and drop yourself at Gurney
  • Soak in the heritage sites and be amazed

Night/p.m
  • If you love just sitting at a cool cafe, head to Monkey Cup (No buses drop by their street, so a cab is the only way to get there) But its worth the shot. Their gipfel is amazing, so does their coconut ice cream
  • Head to Coffee, Tea or Me. This cafe can surprise you with their alcohol and  amazing musics. (Its located just by Love lane and opposite the streets to Reggae Mansion)
  • Best bet for good music to club in Georgetown is definitely Beach Bar at Upper Penang Road.
  • Enjoy the night Market in Gurney Drive (hawker food is good food)
  • Dine at Sekeping Victoria for a full on rustic ambience and good food.

So enjoy Georgetown. I am sorry for such a short post. Its all the time I've got. Updates will be soon! All my love
