Krabi, Koh Phi Phi, Thailand

Hey friends,

I am up for my second travel tips. I am currently promising myself to blog about at least one travel tips and sharing in a week or two.

Sorry if its a bit late. So here are some tips on my travels to Phi Phi Island and Krabi Island last year.

Travel mode; Malindo Air (PEN-KBV) return for only RM200. Check Malindo Air for constant cheap flights. Its always even cheaper if you are flying from Kuala Lumpur (KUL)

KRABI

What you need

  • Rain coat, Umbrella (unfortunately is was raining all through my 3 days in Thailand)
  • Good pair of flip flops/ sandals
  • Big appetite (The food is so so good)
  • Nice pair of short pants and tank top
  • Camera and a big open heart and mind

What to do

  • Stay in Pak Up hostel in Krabi town, its a whole different experience than Ao Nang beach and this hostel made the town (RM 50/ 500TBH per night). Its worth the money!
  • Spend time at the Krabi Coffee Shack just next door to Pak Up. Their coffee and tea is awesome. Very funky as well
  • Get a Thai massage. For only RM25/ 250TBH
  • Party at Pak Up rooftop bar and Playground bar. Music is awesome. Atmosphere is cool.
  • Buy anklets, but beware of the "charm" ones, whereby they might be Thai prayers on it.
Basically, I didn't get to spend so much time around Krabi because of the weather. But Pak Up made my trip as its so convenient and complete for just relaxing, partying or hanging out!

Koh Phi Phi

How to get there;

  • Take the ferry from Krabi jetty to Koh Phi Phi, it runs from 0900am-0430pm
  • Takes up to 2 hours to get to Phi Phi

What you need;
  • Sunscreen
  • Nice and functional bikini/ swim wear
  • Slippers
  • Light clothes, easy fold and dry (as its very sandy every where, even in the hostel)
  • Big appetite as well :)
  • A good book (for reading on the ferry, if you are travelling alone)
  • Camera with a big heart and mind :)

What to do;

  • I stayed in Stones Bar and Dorm. Pretty cool place run by a British owner.Very sandy room though but nice
  • Party by the beach and watch the fire show
  • Get a bamboo tattoo. (It hurts less than normal tattoo) I got one!
  • Go to Phi Phi Bakery, their breakfast is AWESOME
  • Walk around Phi Phi town. It has amazing cool shops
  • Do cliff jumping (I wasn't able to because of the rain storm)
  • Go to Maya beach (James Bond Island )
  • Have a manicure and pedicure ( especially when it rains ), only RM30/300TBH for both mani and pedi
  • Take awesome pictures of the beach and its long tail boat on it

So be it rain or shine, there is always something to do in Krabi and Phi Phi.

I hope this blog entry helps and I hope you add Krabi and Phi Phi on to your travel list this year! I am definitely going back! Enjoy!!!
